Well for years I have been wanting one,and today I went into the local gunshop not thinking of buying anything but lo and behold
there in the case was a Bolo in the 30 caliber a little bit of pitting on the gun and it had been reblued but the bore was great, the price was 395.00 hmmm I thought why not so I put it on lay away.So guy's and gal's I need some input,Price wise and caliber wise.Did I pay to much and how is the 30 caliber?. Serial number was 472***
so can anyone tell me how old it is?..

Your gun is a shooter since it was rebuilt, or at least reblued, and should have an importers stamp. Maybe Oyster Bay in N.Y.? As such it has no value to a collector, but for a shooting example it can't be beat. Usually the worse corrosion is hidden under the grip panels. You did get a good price, I don't think that I have seen any for much under that. You aren't going to use it for concealed carry so don't worry about the performance of a .30 Mauser. It is a fast mover and loses a little velocity in the short Bolo barrel, but as a plinker that should be of no concern though it does increase the blast a bit.
