I bought a 30's manufacture 7.63 chambered c96 recently. I got it cheap, but got what I paid for. While cleaning and assessing the gun I discovered a part of the last shell fired still lodged in the chamber. Couldn't be seen before cleaning due to the accumulated crud. I successfully extracted the remnant and am now looking for a "go, no go, field" head space kit and can't seem to find one. I would prefer to check it this way. Would having a mold of the chamber cast and measured be a good substitute? Suggestions? Would a 7.62x25 head space kit work? I will post pictures if necessary.
