C&R Surplus Springs Improvement Kit for Mosin Nagant.

Mosin-Marauder

Just got the kit in the mail today, couldn't wait to get off work to install it. The kit comes with a Light or heavy (21 lb or 28 lb your choice) firing pin spring which will (In my case) reduce the amount of 2x4s and "Mosin-kicks" you give the rifle at the range over the course of a few days (it has to compress over time, so it will get better with use. Second, a Slack Spring for the trigger, which effectively, turns it into a Finnish Trigger, and Finally, it comes with two front sight post extensions, which I will use until I order a Smith Sight.

After I installed the kit (front posts excluded) the trigger pull is a lot crisper and precise as I would describe it. Second, after I installed the Firing Pin Spring, I noticed a margin or improvement, not much, but I was told by a few people it would improve with use as it compresses. I did put on the extensions and the fit very snugly. No offense to C&R SS but I would just go with a Smith-Sight, they offer a better margin of adjustment and come in a variety of colors and posts. But this kit is very effective for someone on a budget and works well for someone who wants to improve their rifle. For $14.99 it's hard to beat, as it will pay for itself in my opinion, making the whole rifle a lot smoother.

Welp, that's my review of the C & R Improvement Kit for the Mosin Nagant. Hope you all enjoyed it. :P

Cool. Thought about ordering these myself but couldn't remember who made them or where to find them. Might have to order one for my 91/30 and my dad's M44.

What's the functional difference between the 21 lb and 28 lb springs?

The 28 lb offers an overall tighter lockup and might even make it more accurate, I've heard, but the 21 lb one doesn't affect accuracy as far as I know.

The trigger slag spring does not turn a Russian mosin into a Finnish variant. The Finnish trigger has rollers. You can buy one for $30. But it will need fitting to work right with a particular rifle.

I am too cheap to spend the money, so I converted a Russian trigger. Spent several nights on it. It works great. It is one of the real improvements one can invest on.
