C&R License...what is the usual wait time?

I sent in my application for a C&R license the first of the month. Does anyone know what the usual wait time is? Is there a time frame that they have to let you know something by...one way or the other?

Depends on where you live. Here in MI you know either way within 45 days from sending in your application.

Mine took about

4-5 months, IIRC. It's a Federal agency, so I'm not sure whether your state matters much.

It's the Feds. It takes as long as it takes, and there's nothing you can do to hurry it along. If you've been in the military, you'll know what I'm taking about.

I've heard normal wait is under 2 months / I'm waiting for my FFL which is about the same wait.

It was about two-and-a-half weeks for me. I sent in my app in early December 2006, had my license a week before Christmas

Had my first rifle before New Years

Depends on the regional agent who is handling your application. My first one took less than 2 weeks (SE OH). My second took 6 months (NE OH).
