C lect choke

I bought a kinda rough barrel at the gun show. It has a c-lect choke on it.. What the heck is it? I see that it adjusts from IC to Mod, to Full. It has 0% rust and a little finish loss. Are these a good choke?

Mossberg factory installed "poly choke"...

Unscrew the end and remove to make sure the choke "fingers" are uniform and not damaged...

I had a c-lect choke on my .410 bolt action... I would give a coulple turns in or out and could whack rabbits from 10 to 40 yards easy!!!

I had one many moons ago. It and a couple of inches of the barrel are still somewhere out in the duck marsh. Mossberg replaced the barrel, zero hassle. It worked as advertised, but I will NEVER again have a gun with a knobby device on the end of the barrel.

Ya... just went and shot 160 gameloads through it. It really works, I had some reserves as to how it would work, but it did.

They are generally the kiss of death on gun value for collectors, even factory ones.
Lots have been chopped off in the past 10 years for a straight cylinder bore.

They work fine, just not very appealing to the eye.

Check your 'fingers' after shooting all those plastic wads through them...Easier to clean soon after firing than it is once the plastic sets for a while...

Never shoot steel or Hevi-Shot through them with it set tighter than MOD...

I did notice it collected some plastic. And thanks for the steel and hevi shot, I did not know that. You probably saved me alot of trouble
