buying new gun

Taurus is making excellent entry level guns. The quality and accuracy of these guns rivals the best in the business. The only drawback is resale value. Since Taurus does not have a following, they seem to have low resale value. As for the model 66 w/ the 6" barrel. It is a light and easy gun to aim gun, but that is also its downfall. At 35 oz, it is too light to shoot full house .357 Magnum load. Recoil is going to be stiff. You may want to look at the model 607 or 608, they both have a bit more meat to them and they are ported. Those two thing will make the gun a joy to shoot. The most important part about shopping for your first gun is, shop around and ask lots of questions. Don't get hooked on the first dealer and gun that you find, compare.
