Buying Land In South Florida

Any recommendations on areas in/near South Florida where I could find reasonably-priced decent sizes of land for sale? Doesn't need to be big enough for hunting but big enough to set up some targets for bow & firearm shooting, maybe tear up some ground w/ an SUV & just have some private outdoor fun w/ friends. Multiple acres preferred.

I think you are about 30 years too late. After growing up and living there for almost 40 years, I decided it was a giant PITA to have to drive 70 miles one way to go shooting, so I packed up and left, moving to another state with wide open spaces and very lax guns laws. That was 23 years ago and I have never looked back.

You can try on the north side of Lake Okeechobee, but the days of CHEAP Florida land are gone, unless you want to buy an empty subdivision full of abandoned homes.......;)

But there are huge plots of open land down there, mostly in the form of cattle ranches (the largest in the country is located in that area), so you might be able to find a 20-40 acre parcel.

Good luck

Don't know about South Fla., but recently took a trip to the panhandle to look at Pensacola where I did primary flight training, many years ago. There were many large expanses of land for sale between Tallahasee and the Eglin AFB/Ft. Walton beach area.
