Buying guns with carry license

No. All handgun sales are restriced to in-state transfers, either face to face where allowed by the state or through a licenced dealer.

If you want to purchase a handgun in another state, you have to have that handgun shipped to a dealer in your home state. Then your home state dealer will process the background check, etc., so it's the same as purchasing in your home state. The handgun must be legal in your state to purchase/possess.

The only exception is if you get a BATFE Curio and Relic license, then you can buy guns classified as Curio and Relic from other states and have them shipped directly to your home. The dealer will want to see a signed copy of the C&R.

Such guns are things made in the 1950's and earlier, with some later exceptions like the CZ-82 and collectibles like the Bren Ten. A legit dealer will know if they qualify.

But no, a carry license has nothing to do with purchase. You'd need an 01 FFL to do that.

I truly don't believe that the prohibition of one buying a handgun in another state is constitutional. However, I also don't believe that the NRA or anybody else is going to pony up enough $$ to challenge the constitutionality of that ridiculous law.

the problem is if you live in a state like NJ or NY but travel alot in gun friendly states. it limits you alot, both whith prices and options.
