Buying A New Seecamp

Kentucky Rifle

New member
I don't want to pay the much inflated price of a new Seecamp .32 at a gunshow, so I've decided just to go the long way and order one from the factory. I realize that it could take a couple of years to get the pistol. Does anybody know the procedure? I keep calling Seecamp, however nobody ever answers the phone.
I have a Guardian and P-32 and I want to add the Seecamp to my little collection.

Thanks,
Will

Have you ever shot a Seecamp?

If you haven't you might want to try. Its a brutal little beast. It can shoot only Silvertip ammo. And after a few rounds you'll be quite ready to put it back in your pocket.

(Sadly, with this type of gun you need to practice a lot -- I don't think people practice much with Seecamps.)

The Kel-tec P-32 is probably a much better gun. Its lighter, thinner, and has a locked breech design that will allow you to shoot Plus P ammo. It feeds most types of ammo, and is readily available for well under $300.

The Seecamp has always had a certain "snob" appeal, but you seldom see anyone shooting them.

I think the main word here is "collection".
I wouldn't mind a Japanese "baby" Nambu pistol for my collection but it doesn't mean I'd have ammo to fire it or would fire it if I did...same could be at work here.

Walt,
I own a P-32 and a Guardian. I don't think the Seecamp would be any tougher to shoot than the Guardian. Actually, Silvertips feel a little softer than Fiocchi FMJ in the Guardian. I guess I got used to a "little" recoil when I bought my Glock 27.

However, you are right about the P-32. It's very easy to shoot. I have no trouble keeping all shots in the chest area of the target at 21 feet. My P-32 is the first pistol that I've actually considered getting an ankle holster for, being that it's so thin and light.

with all due respect to Walt, I own a
seecamp32 and I don't find it brutal at
all. I don't think I will upgrade to the
380 though not because of recoil but the
seecamp is definitely close quarters
combat only.If I can't hit em with a
32 forget the 380.My wife carries a
seecamp too and she does not find it
brutal either.

thanks but at velocity of 1000 and energy of 225 I would go with the .380 any day over the .32, both seecamps are indetical in shape size and mag capacity, why wouldn't you go with the bigger bang ?! I also think that the .380 in more reliable than the .32 and that if feeds better and larger ammo selection. Guys better sell your .32 because every one will want the .380 and not the .32. Thats why seecamp is delaying the .380 production, "larry does not want to cut his own throat".

If you think the wait for the .32 is long (about 3+ years) don't even hold your breath for the 380. BTW the currently delivered 32's are able to fire reliably with a wider range of ammo though the Win ST are still advised. If anyone thinks the 32 is brutal don't bother with the 380.

Guy's,
How do I get on the waiting list? I've called the Seecamp Factory every day for the last three days. (I get an answering machine that won't take voice messages.) I want to make the deposit and wait for the pistol, however I need to know how to start the ball rolling.

Do you have a ffl if not you can't order one even if they do pick up the phone. If not you have to find a friendly dealer to order it for you. Make sure he is very reputable because the day it comes in he will get offers on it fo 5 times what your going to pay him. I got mine by keeping a close eye on auctionarms and gunbroker and gunsamerica. The only good news about all the cubic zirconias flooding the market these days is that the price of the real gems have fallen drastically over the past couple of years. I didn't give my wife an imitation diamond and I don't want an imitation Seecamp.

Whats the retail on a .32? Its probably something like $480-$500. They are in Gun List all day long for $550-$575 NIB (I'll give you the phone #'s if you don't get GL). I don't know, for the extra $100 or so $'s- thats a small price to pay for instant gratification. I mean, the wait is "years"- my goodness 1 year would be bad let alone 3.

My dealer has a used one, its been sitting there for months- but then again I don't live in a CCW state.

If the wait is three years, why don't they expand production?
