Buying a gun as a gift for out-of-state relative

Can anyone give me the low-down on what hoops have to be jumped through to purchase a firearm as a gift for a relative who lives in another state?

I'm sure there are plenty. :barf:

I imagine it depends somewhat on the state, I'm pretty sure it would be the same as if you were selling to a person in another state. FFL transfer it to him/her and you'll be fine.

As long as the gun in question is legal in the state where they live it's FFL to FFL fill out the form and go from there.

Actually an FFL is only required on the receivers end...
