Got this from my Cruffler e-mail list:

> "The idea was proposed at another forum site that if we wanted to send an
> unmistakable message to the gun control people we should all go out and
> buy at least 1 box of ammunition on July 3rd this year, the day before
> INDEPENDENCE DAY.
> "If 10 million boxes of ammo were sold in 48 hours nation wide it would
> make international news."
> We think this is a VERY GOOD IDEA. Lots of us reload, but we could all
> pick up a box of 22 shells or shotgun shells. So I'm passing the word to
> as many as I can, and encouraging everybody, even local friends to
> participate.
> I encourage you to do the same. Pass it on by email, word of mouth,
> favorite internet forum...
> BUY A BOX ON MONDAY, JULY 3.
> THEN BUY ANOTHER BOX ON TUESDAY, JULY 4.
> IMAGINE 10 MILLION BOXES OF AMMO SOLD IN 48 HOURS! Not a bad response to
> the "Million Mom March", SO SPREAD THE WORD, AND GO BUY A BOX OF AMMO ON
> JULY 3 AND 4.

I'm out of .45 ACP anyway. Sounds like an excellent opportunity to resupply!

Could always use a little 9mm, .308, and .223 to boot. Put me down for 30 or 40 boxes total.

Who will report this?

Is there any plan to flood the media with a news release about this? Has anything been sent out ahead of time informing them that this is going to happen? Maybe WorldNetDaily news would carry it, IF they were told. Drop 'em a line as I did.

It seems like someone will get an idea, post it on the Web, and everyone will agree it's great and join in. Only nobody will tell the rest of the world what is going on.

Like the "2nd Boston Tea Party" tea bag and 50 million round events, unless we let pro-gun papers know, this one will be filtered out by the opposition.

That being said, I think I'll drop by WallyWorld on the 3rd and get a brick of 22s
just for the halibut.

I don't see how it is really making a huge statement, but i need a few shells anyway so i'll get the on the third instead of today.

Don`t worry, the people who need to get the message will get it wether it`s reported in the popular media or not.

I need some more CB Longs anyway. While I'm at it, I'll get a few extra boxes for GP.
Hope you all have an excellent 4th holiday this weekend.

Why just a box? Save up and buy a case of a thousand rounds.

I just purchased 5000 rounds and I'll plan on getting at least one more case on the 3rd.

Mendocino, I'll cover you (but I'll shoot it myself!)

Going shooting this weekend with my friend Bob and our daughters. We'll be taking two 9mms, two shotguns and one Ruger MkII .22. I'll pick up some shot shells on the way, even though I mail order most of my ammo. Bob never has more than eight rounds of ammo on hand at one time, so he'll need a lot.

My ten year old can't wait to shoot the Ruger. She has been practicing (irregularly) with a pellet gun for the last two years in our back yard.

I'll buy a box of something, and in the tradition of helping out a friend who can't afford it right now, I'll buy one in honor of someone else, give it to my nephews and say, "This box of ammo was purchased for you by my friend 'insert your name here'." Any takers?

While you're at it, write a letter to your politicos and newpapers and tell them what you did and why. It won't help if people don't knwo about it. And tell them that we aren't gonna put up with any more violations of our God-given 2nd Amendment rights. We'll deluge them with letters and vote them out, ASAP!

More ammo means another fresh reload. I'll do my part first thing in the morning.

I'm in. Just bought a couple hundred rounds today, a couple hundred on the third will hook me up perfectly for my .40. Hey, this is kind of like voting with a bullet!
