Butch's Bore Shine........

I tried it a while back. It works as advertised, but I did not see a distinct advantage of using it over Shooters Choice. Butch's does contain ammonia, and it is listed on the product content. I just went back to using Shooters Choice. Sling Shot

After trying someone elses' Butch's at the range, I bought my own...I was very impressed with what it would do...considering I was using Hoppes at the time.

I don't know if Butch's is better than Shooter's Choice or not, but Butch's is all that I'm using now, for both handgun and rifle cleaning.

The 1000 yd club guys here in Williamsport are using it and they report excellent results. Harts in Nescopeck says it is flat out the best bore cleaner available. I agree based on my own experience. It seems to cut the crud faster than SC.

I saw a lot of it, and met Butch, at the NBRSA benchrest group nationals this fall. I use it. I like it better than Shooter's Choice. Very good on copper fouling, and safe to leave in your barrel.

However... If I were shooting handgun, I'd probably go with a 50/50 mix of SC or Butch's and Kroil. For a shotgun, with problems from plastic wadding and powder fouling more than anything else, I'd stick with Ed's Red.

I've been using Butch's for about a year now and love it. Nothing that I have used gets copper fouling out faster.
