My self inflicted pain was relieved somewhat today with the arrival of an FAL G1 kit from DSA. This kit is far better than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised with both, the quality of the parts, and the speed of delivery. Now I gotta get that FFL movin on the receiver.

How the #$@! can you keep playing with guns after your incedent? Aren't you going to take a break for a little bit!!!!!!!!!!!

SodaPop: In a word....no. For last two days I've been on my knees scrubbing blood off of everything (with one hand). Wife says cn't do it. Fiddling with the guns has been a pleasant distraction. The memories of the event have been flashing back to me and I need to get through that . The best way is too get right back in the saddle, as gburner said. I WILL most likely avoid the Glock for a week or so. ;)

Atticus, glad to see you are back and with some of your sense of humor intact.

I confess to having had a couple of NDs myself. One was like yours, except with a Walther .32 PPK. Only damage was an easily patched and painted hole in a doorframe. Another when I was checking headspace (with a live round!) and forgot that a Colt cylinder turns the opposite from a S&W cylinder. It can happen.

I just put the 4 rules on foam board and display it prominently in the basement armory of my fashionable bachelor pad. I call it the "Atticus Board."

Simple Geen huh? Wish I'd thought of that. Soft scrub worked fairly well on the floor, door and cabinets. I kinda fibbed in the earlier post...the Glock was the first thing I cleaned the blood off of...hence the "flashbacks". WD40 (WB40?) covered everything else, and it does work well as a cleaner.

Good therapy Atticus. Immerse yourself in the labor of your love and it'll help you forget the pain. Hey, take up the chisel and learn to make long rifles when you have a chance. The Log Cabin Shop in Lodi offers classes. Alternatively, you can buy some videos and get a couple of books. It's a pleasant way to spend the evening hours and forget about the daily stresses of life.

Sir:
As so many have already posted, I wish you a speedy recovery. And thank you for your candor in your ND. It is a tough reminder to us all of what can happen to any of us.

I must also second Sam on the Simple Green. It has worked for me.

And may that receiver get to you soon!

Atticus,
I'm afraid that you will never be comfortable with that Glock ever again.
I am not a fan of Glock, however, for a fellow TFL member, I will sacrifice just this once. Send it to me so that you will no longer be
plagued by flashbacks every time you lay eyes on this evil weapon. I promise to give it a good home with lot's of love and attention.

Hope you have a a speedy recovery and a very "Merry Christmas".

Joe: Your a saint, consider it done. Please send Postal MO for $60O and a copy of your FFL to Atticus - G30 Blackplastic Blvd- Gastin, OH 45450 ;)
