bushnell spotting scopes any good?

I have had soem .22 scopes form bushnell and theybe been decent. I dont need a THOUSAND dollar spotting scope. My rifle is only $1,200 or so....I just want so see my groups without having to walk downrange. Also, every year I go to MI with my buddy so having a spotter for varminting whilst switchong off, one sniper one spotter would be good times with the spotting scope too! Not a neccesity though. This is a 100-200 yard spotting scope. So im looking at bushnell sentry, as well as trophy spotting scopes. The price is right, and the scopes seem ok. Brand hasnt let me down yet. Any reviews...if no...what brands do you reccomend. P.S. this isnt a beat em up scope its just a gentle range one. want something clean cut. Good sturdy bi-pod....you know : D

I can't comment on their spotting scopes, but I am happy with their low-mid range scopes. I have a Banner that has exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one of their spotters.

I just did extensive research here on TFL and on optics sites. My conclusion (although I love Bushnell and own their scopes) was to purchase a Celestron C90. It is a Mak design which is the path my research lead me down. On some bird watching and nature sites the techies rated it as a best buy. You can find it under $200.00 online.

To me, it was the way to go.

I have the Sentry and a couple of Bushnell rifle scopes with which I'm fairly pleased. The only drawback I find in the spotting scope is the small field of view for use in varmiting. Since I bought it for bench use, I can't really complain about having chosen too small an objective.

I have an old Bausch & Lomb spotting scope, and it is pretty good, but I don't see anything similar on the Bushnell site. However, this one seems like it might be a good option:

I used a Bushnell Spacemaster for many years and it was a good, midpriced scope. Don't know how the newer model Spacemaster compares to the older model except that I don't like variable power eyepieces. They generally have less field of view and are not as sharp as fixed power eyepieces. I generally like 25X fixed power. Above 30X, the mirage and vibrations seem to interfere with visibility too much for me. The Spacemaster 60mm objective lens will give a little more light gathering than the smaller Sentry 50mm scope. Sharpness and resolution of scopes is dependent on quality of the eyepiece.
 
I have a fixed 20 power and I wish I would have gotten one that was 20-40X or something. Sometimes 20x is not enough, but it is clear.

I have had Simmons in the past and it was junk.
 
You can go to any Wal-Mart or sporting goods store and pick up a decent compact telescope. Compact telescopes work phenomenally. The one I use has one drawback though … left is right and right is left when you look through it. There are attachments that go on the eyepiece that corrects this, but I haven’t been able to find one for less than $50.00 or more.
Anyways, I’m able to read a road sign from around 1 mile away with mine. The electronic telescopes (that have a hand held controller) are nice because they are able to be controlled at extremely fine increments. I don’t think the electronic type is necessary though … one of my motors just malfunctioned but it is almost 10 years old.

I just recieved that Bushnell telescope today. It sucks. It's huge, bulky, flimsy, and really awkward. Sorry for such a stupid suggestion.

The Meade telescopes are very nice and compact though.
