Bushnell Holosight Battery issue!

I sent my Holosight back to Bushnell to have the Reticle adjusted and just got it back - What I am concerned about is that they had put a large piece of paper in the package with bold 20? font print stating that if it was not going to be used for over 3 days, the batteries should be removed to prevent damage to the unit... Doesn't this defeat the scope's usefullness??
Scenario: Loud crash 0300 - I cant imagine trying to wake up, grab my gun, load in the 2 batteries then assess for a threat!! Has anyone else been told this? Do Eotech's have the same warning??
 
Never heard that before. I know I just put a new set in mine and then the button must have been hit and now the batteries are dead so going out to buy more for mine tonight. I also wish they had memory of your setting. Mine comes on really bright and I like it a bit dim, but every time I have to turn it down.
