I am joining a gun club with a 600 yard outdoor range. I am in the process of building my CETME for some long range shooting. I am saving some money for a scope and harris bipod right now. What scope should I be saving for? I bought the book "Dead On" and I am reading up on long range shooting. Growing up in MA, I am def. new to shooting. My friends in college were from upstate NY and got me into it. I have been learning a lot over the past 4 years, yet still don't know much about optics.
The Busnell 3200 5-15 x 50mm for $307.00 seems like a good buy to me. Will I be happy with this for long range shooting? I know some people say iron sights are all you need for 600 yard shooting, but I will have more fun sighting in my scope and doing some "sniping". I have just always found the topic of military snipers to be extremely interesting and think this type of shooting will be fun. Anyways, will this scope give me what I need or is there something better in the same price range?
