Bushmaster Website Says...........

They did a 2500rd reliability test. I'm looking at AR's but this seems like a silly thing to be saying on a website. I think I've read that the Military did 35,000 or 40,000 rd tests on ther M9 pistols without Jams. If this is suppose to make me want to buy an AR Its not working!!

What were the Test fire Trials with the M16 design? How many Rounds until failure?

I guess I'm easy to please. 2,500 rounds without a problem sounds pretty good to me. Especially if this is without cleaning, lubing, etc. I wouldn't be surprised to have some ammo-related problems in that many rounds (but then, I shoot pretty low-cost .223 ammo). And it didn't fail after 2,500 did it? I'd hate to foot the ammo bill for a 35,000 round test. I can't blame them for declaring victory and stopping after 2,500.

I'd be surprised to have any semi-auto go 35,000 rounds without a problem. Could this just be without breakage, or is this really without a jam of any kind? I suspect that this is with periodic cleanings and lubrication. Anyway, I guess it just depends on how you are testing and how you define success/failure.
