I am going to buy a bushmaster AR-15 in a week or two and I am debating on the full size or the shorty. I like the compactness of the shorty, but I think they look really wierd with the full size buttstock. I know that it is illegal to put on the "normal" collapsable butstock, so I think I am leaning towards the full size model. Any thoughts?

glock, you have to decide whay your shooting application will be before you decide what configuration to acquire.

Do you plan to shoot this rifle at 2-500 yards? Competition? Or would you be more likely so shoot in the 25-200 yard distances? Answer these questions and you will then have an answer to your thread.

I started with the "full size" (20" HBAR). It was like lugging around a Howitzer. Since those early days for me I have 4 AR15's, 3 in 16" and one custom Kreiger in 18.5". Since I shoot at the 25-200 yard distances these lengths are perfect. I still get good velocity and accuracy (the 2 are very different) and I now have a rifle in an acceptable weight and length.

Good luck choosing.
