Bushmaster AR Mags

Ok, I just bought a Bushmaster AR-15. I only have a ten round mag and a 30 rd. I want to get some more tens or twenty's but I cant find anyone who has them new. Anyone know a place where I could get some QUALITY mags... Ones that wont fall apart. (My ten rounder is kinda loose and crappy feeling...feels like its going to break). Thanks.

Thermolds are pretty good mags for 30 rounders. But if you are going to buy magazines for your ar15 then get USGI magazines. They are the best for your mags. I've even got several Bushmaster "new design" ten rounders and they work great. The frankenmag though sucks. Whatever you do stay away from USA brand magazines they are awful. Go to http://www.ar15.com and click on discussion forums. Then go down to the magazines forum and look there. You will find all the information you need to know about what kind of magazines to get and what kind not to get.

My Bushmaster 10 rounders are the best 10 rd mags I ever used. They are the newer ones though. Like JDams said, stay away from USA mags, they're lousy.

I have had problems with the 'new' style Bushmaster 10 rounders. The springs are way too tight and will not feed properly. I have found that the Armalite 10 rounders function flawlessly in my Bushy Rifle.

I like CDNNinvestments.com good prices and about $20 not bad and have deals 3-30rd mags and a pouch for $60-70 can't remember which. All are new and have enhanced followers I believe. Follower is green is supposed to feed better--DAROGUE1

Try a gun show......

If you have gun shows in your area, you will likely find quality used AR mags for sale. I have a couple of used Colt 20 rounders that I picked up for $30 each and they work great. Also, you can try local gun dealers. I went to a local dealer in my area and much to my surprise he had quite a supply of used (excellent shape) USGI 20 round mags for my M1A which he sells for $27 each. Needless to say, I loaded up! :D

kgs.

I have nothing but praise for the thermold mags, over the years I have bought at least a dozen and have never had a problem. You can drop them without worrying about bending the magazine lips, they are just about indestructable. The orlite mag seems to be pretty good, some will work with Bushy lowers but I suggest you take your rifle to make sure that it will lock in securely. The 20 round GIs can be pretty tough, I bought one for .50 at a yard sale, it looked like hell but after cleaning works great. I actually like the 20s better for shooting off the bench.FWIW
