Bushmaster A1 upper versus A2 upper?

Does the A1 upper without the elevation knob have any advantages over the A2 upper. If not, why are postban Bushmasters being sold with the A1 upper? There doesn't seem to be much of a price difference.

Many Prefer the A1 Sights

WoundChannel,

Many people prefer the original sights because they can't be bumped out of zero. The Canadian C7 (just like our M16A2 except has A1 sights and full auto selector) is considered by a lot of people the best M16 varient.

The big thing in iron sight combat type competition is A1 sights, with A2 aperature (the A2 has the large ghost ring).

Regardless of what they are retailing the complete rifle for, the A2 upper has a lot more parts and costs more. Current Bushmaster catalog lists the A1 upper at $129.95 and the A2 upper at $159.95.
