Bush-Gore November?

The candidate coming out of the debates with the highest polls will win. Personally, I think a lot of folks are underestimating Bush's abilities. He will do very well in the debates. Gore will be his usual shifty-eyed, pedantic, attacking self and turn off a good number of voters, particularly women.

The only adult in the race was Alan Keyes. Gore's a lunatic and Bush is little more than a pleasant persona who decided to grow up when he was 40. The only argument I've heard why he should be President is that he's not Owlgore. A negation is no affirmation. This is no more than blackmail, and no reason to vote for him. He WILL NOT confront the left. Whoever wins, we all lose.
The GOP is following a policy that is doomed to fail even if they do everything right and win the election. The country needs to confront and reject lunacy and perversion instead of making it feel comfortable and welcome.

As I've written here elsewhere, having a winning TeeVee personality and being fun at parties is part of the problem. Being an irascible old coot who will call nonsense and idiocy by its proper name, with little concern for the tender sensitivities of people who hate the Republic and the hard headed morality and rationality which makes liberty viable is part of the solution.
