Burris Spotting scopes........

Hi guys,

I'm shopping for a decent spotting scope for use at out to around 300 yds(bullseye shooting).

Can't justify the $ for a Kowa, Leopold, Nikon, etc..... Been looking seriously at Burris' new for 2000 "LANDMARK SPOTTER". It is a 15 x 45 w/ 60mm objective. Burris has a good rep and the price is right for this size & type spotter. About the best I've seen for a 60mm scope.

I don't have a distributor around here who carries them and I'm reluctant to order one without some better knowledge....

Has anybody out there seen one of these?? Had a chance to compare them with the other high end (Kowa, Nikon, Leupold) and low(er) end (Tasco, Bushnell) scopes???

Would appreciate any & all hard data comments.

Thanks guys,
Swampy

go to www.burrisoptics.com for info on their full line of optics
i have an older spotting scope of theirs. works fine on the range @200mtrs(longest shooting berm). and it has taken alot of abuse and still functions well.

I have one and like it pretty good, this is my first, i looked at the Tasco($129) and Nikon($4oo), for the money the Landmark($165) suits my needs. Able to see .223 holes at 100 yards. and has longer eye relif for eyeglass wears like me. The tripod that came with it it's not to good, shakes to much, but a camera one workes better. I got my at Midway when it was on sale. There $186.00 now without the tripod and Cabela's has them with the tripod for the same price i think. Its not rubber coated like the Nikon but looks like it.
