Burris Signature rings - Your opinions

I have a set of Burris Signature rings on a varmint handgun. I really like the idea of the plastic inserts being self-aligning and that it won't scratch the scope. It sure is easier than lapping the rings.

My question is why don't more shooters use these rings? It seems to be the best idea out there but I might be missing something.

Has anyone had a bad experience with this setup? Is there a better setup available?

I use these rings on some guns also. I suggest them to anybody who wants to mount a scope. They are very simple to use and really easy on the gun. The reason why more people don't use them is mostly just habit and market share. I prefer Quick Release rings myself and Burris doesn't offer these in the Posi-Align style.

i am using the signature series almost exclusively on all my scoped guns, outside of the 30mm red dots. really like the fact that with the inserts you can get the different + or- from 5 to 20thousands to adjust scope for zero without having to shim up the mount base' itself. had a hard time zeroing in a new scope and it took a combo of +&- inserts to do this. for a few bucks more well worth the investment. yes there are i am sure to some better mount and scope mfg's out there but burris has always done right by me.

Keith,

Burris makes signature rings for standard 1 inch and 30 millimeter scope tubes. As long as the tube is this size, brand shouldn't matter. I used them on a 30 mm Tasco one time and they performed as well as the Leopold mounts I had on previously.
