Burris Signature Rings, any good?

Cabela's Link for Rings here

They say they have a synthetic inner ring to eliminate scope flexing and warping and nullify the need to lap the rings.

What do you guys think? Any experiences with them? Is it true, or just advertising mumbo jumbo?

Considering getting these to gain the above mentioned features.

I tried the Signature Z rings on my 7STW. It was nice to get the scope closer to optical zero by using the offset inserts, but I can't imagine that using an insert is better than lapping. I know that the inserts may flex, but can you really get 100% contact out of them? For the price of a lapping kit from Sinclairs (around $15-$18), I'd just lap the rings unless you really need the offsets to gain lots of internal scope adjustment. I lapped my latest set of regular Zee rings to 100% (they recommend stopping at 75% contact area) and I still had plenty of room to tighten the rings to full torque.

I initially went with the signature rings because I have a very heavy scope (32 oz) with a 56mm objective and I was creeping on every shot with the Leopold windage ajustable mounts (I tried lapped and non lapped). Burris claims the Sigantures have 40% more clamping force, but it didn't stop scope creep for me (I admit I have an "overkill" type of scenario). One nice benefit was that the signature rings didn't mar the scope finish when it moved. They performed about as well as the Leopold STD rings in terms of clamping force. For a Weaver style base, they were pretty good, but if you don't need the offset then I suggest you lap the regular Zee rings on top of Warne or Weaver Grand Slam (all steel) bases and I think you would be better served
(and save a few dollars).

On a side note, "Big Bore" gave me the idea to use "Scotch Kote" electrical wire sealant as an adhesive in the rings. I ran 10 rounds down the bore this evening and it held like a rock where all else failed. Thanks BB.

Once more into the breach...

I've been using Weaver or Weaver-style rings for some 50 years, with zero problems of any sort. I've never sealed, lapped, inserted, nada. Never had a scope slip on any of my '06s.
