Burris Posi-lock - lock it between shots?

I took my new-to-me Burris posi-lock (sitting on a 7mm-08 Encore pistol) to the range today. While I'm not a serious expert with a large pistol, I can usually maintain minute-of-deer results. I only had time to pop off 10 rounds starting at the 25 yd line to get it roughly on target then moving to 75 yds. My shots were pretty widespread. Perhaps some of it was my unfamiliarity with that pistol but I'm wondering if I'm using the posi-lock right. I left it unlocked between shots. I'm wondering if the proper process is to lock it back between shots to keep the zero from wondering.

I'm just wondering if I'm getting POI shift between shots while the posi-lock is not engaged. Either way, I'm going to have to spend more time at the range with it.

The scope still has the same springs in it as the models without Posi-lock, so the reticle is not bouncing around between shots. Rest the fore-end on the bags, not the barrel, and try to reposition the pistol exactly the same way after each shot.
