Burris or Leupold

I've narrowed it down to either a 2X Burris or 2X Leupold for my Model 29 Smith. It's easy for me to recommend spending someone else's money. Now I'll be spending mine. What makes the Leupold worth on average $100.00 more than the Burris?

I have 3 of the 2X Leupold handgun scopes and I think they are the best overall handgun scope there is. I like Burris rifle scopes but I like Leupold better

Yes. It is false economy to put a cheap scope on a heavy recoiling gun, rifle or handgun. I've used Leupold scopes for years and have never had a problem with one due to heavy recoil, whereas the same cannot be said for other makes.....I don't, however, have any personal/first-hand experience with Burris, so do not presume to trash-talk their product. I have found, however, that with scopes you get what you pay for.

Thanks for all the help

I made three seperate threads to help me along on my scope and mount selection. I ended up ordering a Burris scope then ended up cancelling the order. I reordered a Leupold 2X with leupold mount and rings. When it's all mounted and ready to go I'll post some pictures. Thanks to all for the help.

2X Burris or 2X Leupold?

Burris or Leupold?
The guy who owns/started Burris was an engineer at Leupold.
I have owned both brands of scope and have no apprehention of buying either.

they are both good handgun scopes....I have a 2x Leupold on my Raging Bull in 454 Casull, but wouldn't be afraid to put a Burris on it.....another option is the Bushnell 2-6x scope, this is a tough scope and is recommended on hand cannons made by JD Jones.....
