Burning Smell

Why is there a burning smell whenever I rack the charging handle on my AR-15? Even when it was brand new and unfired it would have this odd smell when the handle is used. Is that normal? Should I be oiling some part of it?

mine does that after every cleaning, if i leave lube on the carrier. fire a few rounds, it goes away
