Burning Bush Sacrilegious?

Gore's statement to the NAACP that
in reference to Mr.Heston that "when
Moses listened to a bush he was lost in the desert for forty years," does anyone find this offensive? Am I hypersensitive
that this politico-miscreant is being
blashemous? What we are talking about is the Vice President of the United States
making a remark about this? I believe it is in poor taste and smacks in the face
of Judaism. Any input or thoughts from
others would be welcomed.

No, you're not hyper-sensitive, you feel the same sense of insult and outrage that the country has been feeling for the past forty years. It's just that we're so numbed by constant outrage that we don't respond appropriately any more. Everything that represents traditional American values is fair game to these clowns. Nothing is too vulgar or offensive so long as it demeans all the values that made our country the land of the free and the home of the brave.

As long as you're slamming tax-paying, responsible, fundamentalist Christians, you can't go wrong in American Politiks. We are about to see the recreation of the Hitler state, and guess who's going to be the scapegoat this time? As a pro-gun Christian, I'm watching my back now....

It was a truly ignorant but apparently prepared remark.
I have not heard of anyone who thought well of it, so lets not let people forget that he said it.
I have no faith in Gore in any case, but maybe it will make fence sitters think a lttle less of him.
This man is no genius with words.

Gore's nuttier than my Blessed Mother's Christmas fruitcakes. He has no "internal moral compass," he operates on some sort of social radar, he merely avoids obstacles, and we don't register on the screen. He'll say anything and do anything to get people to like him. He's a walking, babbling mass of sensations. He does not think critically in relation to a political agenda, rather he reacts pathologically to momentary impressions.
Him, his followers, their fellow travellers, and the horses they rode to town on.

Yes, it was sacreligious, blasphemous, rude, judgemental, offensive and he doesn't care one wit!

Oh, how I hurt for my beloved nation and religion if this dope wins the election...

Please, Lord, don't let it happen...

Well it could also be used for a good comeback... ie... Yes, but he also freed the slaves and led them to the promised land.... But of course Bush cares to much for peoples feelings to say something like that.

RKBA!

Gore...we should all expect more of him. After all, he created the internet! :) :)

Seriously, how can he get away with this garbage? If Bush said something like that there would be 24 hour continuous coverage from CNN...

What do you actually expect from Gore? Decency, Civility, Intelligence, Respectfullness, Reverence? Oh no, not from this lowlife.

If you feel up for it, a patriotic service would be to make every Jew or religous person you know aware of this behavior. You can also try to get any liberals you know into the Green party.

But...... the crowd clapped :( Gore has to gain support from big groups NEA,NAACP,AARP,and unions. How? Promise everything, just like uncle Bill. Most of these people don't care about Liberty just how much can I get! And they are getting. If we split the vote with the 3rd party, we lose completely. Think what this country will look like in 4 years with Gore. Our only hope is grass roots, overcome the big groups and vote with one purpose. We can't save this country in 4 years, but if we can slow up the current trend long enough to organize real candidates, maybe, just maybe.. I'm not going to hold my breath.

thanks for the input. The Democrats have pandered to the special interest groups for so long ie., losers who want a handout, till they had to go to the
chinese and Dali Lama for money!!
Gore is stupid for making a statement
about the burning bush and those who applauded him may vote for him but I'll
bet few will contribute any money to his
campaign because they prefer to receive instead of giving. I guess I got off tangent talking about democtrats sorry.
thanks again for the input.

Absolutely prepared. He used it a few weeks ago at some other function, and a number of Jewish religious groups commented on how inappropriate it was. Maybe that time it was off the cuff, but I doubt it. Off course, the main stream media did not give this a lot of play, so most people probably never heard about it.
I was amazed that he used it again. I can only conclude that he likes the line.

1-Yes, the remark is insulting.
2-No, I am not Christian, Jewish, or Islamic.
3-If he had insulted my religion you would not be outraged because it is politically korect to insult pagans and slur the many forms of our religion.

I am Christian and do not feel insulted by this, instead I just feel sorry for him. He should look up the validity of his staments though. Moses and the Israilites did not become lost for 40 years after Moses met with God at the burning bush, instead he lead them straight to the promised land. It was the Israilites who then rebeled at the sight of the people they found living there. They became afraid and because of their unfaithfulness in the promises of God, they were sent to wander the desert for 40 years until they had all died off, then their children were allowed to go back. Anyone who is interested, it is in Numbers 13 and 14.
