Just asking you to pause and remember the Battle of Bunker Hill which took place on June 17, 1775 in Charlestown, Mass. The British Regulars crossed over the harbor from Boston and met the militia men from New England in the first pitched battle of the Revolution. Ceremonies will be held at the Bunker Hill Monument on Thursday honoring the men who died for freedom. While the Brits were victorius, it was a costly victory, with a great number of regulars killed and wounded. The militia had to withdraw when they ran out of ammunition. The town was burned to the ground by the victors.
The battle is remembered each year with a huge parade and a weeklong series of activities.

That' correct, I live on the approach to Breeds Hill. Bunker Hill is adjacent, a stones throw away so to speak.
