Greetings.
I am using some relatively new (couple years old) Bullseye powder for a 9mm load. Usually I like HP-38 but I can't find any, and I have some Bullseye, so I'm going to use it. Load data in my Lyman's Handbook (49th ed.) says that for a 115 grain jacketed hollow point, max load is 4.8 grains of powder.
I have loaded up 30 rounds, and it seems that at 4.3 grains, the cases are quite full--to the point that I imagine the base of the bullet is touching the powder. I would think that with 4.8 grains, it may even be slightly compressing the powder.
Has anyone used Bullseye for 9mm loads, and if so, does the powder normally seem to fill up the case to around 3/4 full with 4.3 grains?
Thanks in advance.
