bullets point of impact problem 44 mag

I have a Ruger Super Redhawk 44magnum 9-1/2 inch barrell.
I just put a scope on this gun and was sighting it in for deer hunting, I reload and normally I see little difference in the point of impact between different bullet types and loads. I was sighting it in using light loads and LCSW's after I got it sighted in I wanted to test my hunting loads which are 265gr and chronygraphed at 1525fps. I expected little adjustment at only 25 yards but found that I was shooting the heavy loads at least 6 inches lower and into the dirt. So i adjusted my scope and now with those rounds I am grouping 2" at 25 yards. I tried the wadcutters again and they all shoot 6-8 inches higher than the heavy loads. Any Ideas. I expect some deviation but not that much at that range.

And why don't you believe your own targets? I have a 44 rifle and pistol.
In the rifle I see 265 gr bullets hitting 6" lower at 100 yds. In the pistol I see the same at 50 yds. Pistols are sensitive to your hold. It is what is your hold is. Not bad / not good - just that is how Your pistol performs for you.

because i am shooting them out of the same gun at the same distance. They should be close to the same POI or possible I am shooting the two rounds differently or one is accurate and the other isn't. I was just looking for some help.

barrel time

the gun starts to recoil before the bullet leaves the barrel the wad cutter round is likely a much lower velocity round so the recoil has moved the barrel a little more before the bullet exits the barrel thus the lower vellocity round is printing higher than the higher velocity round.

With bullets and handguns faster = lower POI. I've had a very similar experience with my .357 magnum revolvers. Magnums hit lower than .38s and fast magnums (125gr) hit lower than relatively slow magnums (158gr). My solution is to adjust the sights for the round I'm using.

As a rule, heavier bullets and/or lower velocities will raise your point of impact. Might wanna try throttling back on those 265's. No need to punish yourself and it just ain't necessary to drive them so fast to kill deer. Accuracy should improve over the 2" you're seeing now.

I have good load I worked up in 240 jhp, very accurate

When I shoot factory 240, they have POI low and right. Not sure what this means as I have tried several different factory rds. This is out of a 7.5" Blackhawk. Had it magnaported when it was new, didn'd try much ammo prior to that, could that be a place to look? Have read of others doing elev. like you, but not much in windage

Also shoot same loads in marlin 36c with somewhat the same results.

I had loaded up several of my fav. loads, lasted me about 15 years of hunting, now getting down to my last cyl. full. Have desire to spend more time expirmenting with reloading many different loads, hopefully can get more uniform so I can shoot same ammo in both guns. That would be ideal for me.

Bottom line, I have little idea why, just wanted to mention I had near same results... fwiw.
