Bullets for P99 40

I have pretty much gone through all of the different ammo types offered by the local gun store for my Walther. The rep of this gun being a jammer or slide locker persuaded me to try all of the ammo. I am happy to report no jams on any ammo when I let the slide drop naturally or I "sling shot" it after reloads. My one buddy refuses to do this and manually resists the slide slam and the slide has not closed for him on a few occasions. This happens more when we hide snap caps in the magazine to check for trigger squeeze (he manipulates the slide more often). I sling shot and continue firing.

I am not advocating any brand over the other, just reporting what I have found. Except where note, FMJ were used (40 *&*).

Brand:::Make/type:::WT:::#slide locks/ 100 rnds
UMC (Cheap Yellow Box) 155gr(?) 0
PMC FMJ 180gr 0
Liberty FMJ 155gr 5
Winchester JHP 160gr(?) 0
CCI-Blazer FMJ 160gr 4
Federal Hydroshox 155gr(?) 0
Remington JHP 155gr 0

I have chosen my defense ammo to the Remington JHP and my main practice ammo as PMC- I like the prices and the accuracy. I hated the UMC, although no slide locks, my whole slide and muzzle were covered with a grey residue- it took many a swaps before they were coming out clean.

What have other people experienced with the fourty?

And yes, I know :rolleyes: Glocks never jam, Sigs never lock, revolvers never stovepipe.

One other question,

Dear Dr. Laura,

Is it moral to buy current store stock of S&W SW99 magazines. They are $30 cheaper than the MecGar/ Walther magazine. The store is not going to renew its stock of any S&W equipment upon sell out of current.
