Bullet Drop Compensated Scope

I have a Bushnell 4-12X40mm on my rifle and it has a bullet drop compensator on it. I was wondering if anyone knew what caliber that the BDC was designed for. I am using a .270 WIN and I would like to know whether it is going to hit high or low before I do a large amount of shooting with it.

Corey:

You will probably have to contact Bushnell to find out. It wouldn't happen to be a Sportsview scope... with two horizontal reticles, letters above the #s on the power adjustment knob, and A, E, D, on the horizontal crosshair adjusment would it? If it is there is are different horizontal knobs that can be had that correspond with different calibers and their trajectories.

Most BDC are set up for if not a specific caliber/projectial (ie. .308 Federal Match), that at the very least they group similar trajectories and come out with a few (3 for the Bushnell BDC 3-9x scope I use to have) knobs that will cover these fairly well.

I'd give Bushnell a call.

Corey, The Gunny gives really good advise!
Learn that scope that you have and move on.
Good Shooting, Hank
