bullet casting

Thanks, where do you get the lead. I see a lot of it on ebay. I go to the range twice a week and I'm looking for a way to shoot a little cheaper.
Thanks again
Don

I use several different alloys, but for pistols, most often I use wheel weights. Try finding a small (large shops already have recyclers, but trying never hurt) tire shop or one “out it the sticks”, find out the owners favorite beverage and keep the skids greased.

Thanks for all the help. Is the CZ the same company that made the CZ motorcycles. I raced a 250 CZ motorcross bike many years ago.
Thanks again for all your help.
Don:)

Or, you can do what I do...

Once in a while, I take my turkey burner, a cast iron pot, a big steel serving spoon with holes drilled in it, and a 10 lb ingot mold out to the range, and mine the backstop. You will be surprised at the amount of lead you can pull out.

About an hour's work yields about 50 lb of useable alloy, fluxed and cleaned in 10 lb ingots.
