Hi guys. I like the idea of a small, lightweight revolver shooting 44 Special. After reading here on the forums, I thought I'd try one of the new manufacture Charter Arms Bulldogs. I've looked in and phoned at least 10-12 gunshops in WA state (and a Cabelas in ID). A couple had Charter revolvers in 38 Special, one had the 44 in a 4" target model, - - - but absolutely none had the new production 2 1/2"barrel fixed sight Bulldog. (That's the model I'm interested in) Several said they could get them - - but I'm unwilling to order one of these without seeing them in person and checking it out. (Same goes for Taurus, but not interested in them.) I even went into a shop that I don't visit much. They seem to specialize in cheapo guns. They didnt have a Bulldog either.

Do you guys see the new fixed sight Bulldogs in your local gun shops ?

P.S. - - my search hasn't been a complete bust. I found a beautiful 44 Special S&W 21-4 (no TR logo) in absolutely unused condition yesterday and bought that.

One of the LGS in my area has had one for a while. I don't know if it is still there. Almost bought it because it is on my short list, but a couple others moved up on the list!:D

i looked for a stainless or blued 2.5 inch before landing this:

My Dealers hadn't seen any .44 Bulldogs in quite a while.

All the places online Might have had the stainless guns..
but were on back-order or discontinued for the blued ones.

My deep blue Bulldog looks much better than either of the
newer ones.

If I told you the price, you'd slap me in the head and take it away from me.
It looks to be unfired, but not for long!

czf - - nice looking revolver.
Its been interesting the response I get when I ask if they have a Bulldog in stock. Maybe I'm imagining it a little, but there seems to be a 'get no respect' vibe. But, the new 4" target model that I looked at was well put together. I missed a short barrel stainless fixed sight gun that they had in another of their store locations by one day.
Some of the dealers may be remembering the problems with certain past years of the Bulldog.
