Bulk Boxed .223

Are bulked boxed .223 rounds actually counted or boxed by weight? Has anyone ever actually counted out a 1,000 rounds to see if you were shorted? I am feeling lazy tonight! :)

I'd trust that if I bought a 1000 round case of .223 it would be 1000 rounds of .223.

I doubt that the ammo is boxed by weight. More than likely is bulk boxed by a machine with a laser/camera system that counts the ammo and moves the box on when the number hits 1000.

If you don't trust it go count it. Simple as that. I can tell you though that the last time I bought ammo I bought 10 cases of .223 - and I'm pretty sure I got 10k bangs out of that purchase. If I got a few less or more well I'm not too concerned really since I really bought the ammo just for the brass anyway. Getting to shoot it first before collecting, cleaning and reloading the brass was just a bonus. :p

I occasionally buy the 100 round packs of WWB 9mm from Walmart. I've never been shorted, but have found 101 rounds in a box a couple of times.
