Where are you guys getting your bullets it from? I just ordered 1000 of these 55 FMJ. $85 bucks shipped to my door in Anchorage, AK

https://223bulkbullets.com/

There is also this place for SS109 bullets.

I am thinking I may want to stock up on a few thousand rounds as I assume there will be a price spike with Clinton getting elected and I will want enough to hold me over. I enjoy training with my firearms and if they cost me an arm and a leg to do that it will be less enjoyable.

Political opinions aside,
Never hurts to have ammo/components handy if you can afford & safely store them.

We never know what is going to pop up in the political landscape,
8 years of " 'Bamers cumin fer ur guns" did nothing but cause issues with reloading supplies, since firearms were for sale in record numbers,
And a multi-billion round government contracts made some components/loaded ammo nearly impossible to get...

Another big government contract can do it again...
Panic buying can do it again...

Since I'm part of a shooting club, I try and keep components for about 10,000 rounds on the shelf,
And I can see a dedicated shooter burning up 1,000 rounds on vacation sharpening skills.
I see 'Professionals' blow through 2,500 in a week of practice (speed gun guys).

Thanks for the tip on less expensive projectiles!
Midway USA will probably have another 'No Hazmat' sale on primers again pretty soon, sitting on projectiles I'd be watching the primer/powder market!
Just can't help myself!

Bear in mind both those choices are not known for accuracy, but rather as bulk bullets.

IMHO, Hornady 55gr FMJ bullets have a great accuracy reputation.

Just saying : Being I prefer to shoot rifle. Back in the day when a 20 rd box of American Eagle fmj shelf price was 0.99 cents.

Bought a full case 2000 rds of new 223 bulk win brass._3000 rds of 55 gr fmj bulk bullets._ 2000 rds of bulk 55gr win s/point. _In a single purchase 30 years ago. Such a purchase made back in the day was cost prohibited for any private citizen other than a FFL holder.
As time went by. I've seen quite a few price increases over time with those same cartridge components.
Yep!! 30 years ago I was a tad hesitant to make such a large purchase. Today. _ I'm whole heartily glad I didn't procrastinate.

Anyone find any deals on 62 grain non steel/non tracer? My girl shoots best in the 60s but tough time finding decent bullet prices.

I have been buying 55 grain Z-Max 500 count off the shelf at Cabela's. May not be the greatest price. Though the accuracy in my bolt action is sub 1/4 MOA with a bench rest. In my AR with irons I can nail 20 oz bottles of water at 50 to 100 yards with ease.

Though I may look into the cheap go bang stuff for some of the times when I am taking some new shooters to the range. 8 cents is way cheaper than 20 cents that is for sure.

The best "bulk" bullet I have found is the Hornady 55 gr FMJ.
I don't blast dirt.
I don't shoot just to make noise.
I don't like burning powder and primers just for giggles.
So... Lower quality need not apply.

And, now that I've read more of the previous replies, I see that other members have the same opinion of the Hornady FMJ.

I usually buy mine when they're on clearance or I have a (good) discount code for MidwayUSA. ('Bulk' section, 1k or more at a time.)

I want to have some rounds to play with for accuracy, these won't be it. I don't need 1 MOA groups for practice, I need to hit about a 10" circle at 100 yards and various larger steel targets usually from 75-25 yards out.

X2 on what What FrankenMauser said!

I do not blast dirt.
I do not shoot just to make noise.
I do not like burning powder & primers just for giggles.

I AIM EVERY ROUND
Therefore I don't spend my time on the reloader making 'Blasting' ammo.

10 MoA.
Cheap.
Bulk.
100 yd or less.

Sounds like this is all you need: $24 / 1000.

I use RMR (Rocky Mountain Reloading ) or Monmouth Reloading for all of my 55 grain FMJ's . Really good deals from these guys.
