Bulk .22 ammo from Cabela's

Does anyone have any experience with the "Aguila Super Max" .22 ammo sold in the Cabela's catalogs? I recently purchased a 10/22 and would like to have some ammo waiting when I pick it up. Are there any other good sources for bulk (500+) .22 rounds?

Bulk .22 is 500 rounds , I thought that was 1/2 my basic range load :D. No I've never tried the Aguila so can't help you there. If you are only looking for a brick or two then you would probably do better going to a local sporting goods store. I can usually pick up a brick for $8-9.

Yo, Matt-
Got $10 or $12?
Head to wal-mart, k-mart, etc. :)

I tried some of it in my 10/22T. The groupings were not as good as what I was getting with the Remingtons that I normally use and the point of impact went from dead center to 2 o'clock. I tried them in my 22 revolvers and I had to manually eject the cases from my H&R 929. I finished them up in my Ruger Single Six and never considered buying them again.

Thanks, JBP. I think I'll just get $50 bucks worth of bricks when I pick the gun up on Tuesday. That way I can get several different brands and compare.

i second the thing about getting 500+ rounds at wal-mart.
i buy 550 round bricks of either federal or remington there for 9.95 or so.
50 bucks worth of bricks would last a guy a while, altho a 10/22 is addictive to shoot and i have used 550 rounds thru one in about 2 days, with a lot of cleaning.

guerilla1138,
Addictive is an understatement! A buddy and I went through about 450 rounds a couple weekends ago. After that I decided to get one for myself. My neighbors boys are almost as excited as I am. We can't wait for the dang 10 day waiting period to be over on, get this, Election Day, Nov 7th! HA! How's that for irony? ;)

Agreed. I buy bulk pack el-cheapo Federal or Remington, or Winchester. The Federals shoot very well in my 597 and in my S&W 22a.

The Phoenix HP-22 will eat it all, a little less accurately.

Redleg, a .22 is beyond addictive. And most online sales really can't beat a 'Wally World' special. Bought 14 of the Federal 550 round 'milk carton' deal of the day for $8.79 each. I'd have bought more but that was all they had...I'm going back tomorrow, that price is too good to beat...
