Bulgarian Tokarev Ammo Bad Quality?

Found some discussions recently about the Bulgarian surplus 7.62x25 ammo for the CZ-52 Tok pistol. Supposedly, this ammo is very hot and damaged/split the slides on some Tok pistols. Is this the general quality of the Bulgarian fodder, or is it that a few bad case lots were sold among decent Bulgarian ammo?

I don't think I'll use the Bulgarian stuff but will try to find S&B or Russian ammo.

Info appreciated. Thanks.

The Bulgarian stuff was not intended for Tokarevs.
It was intended for the delayed roller locking CZ52 pistols, which can handle the pressure. The antiquated (circa 1910) design of the Tokarev will not handle those pressures.
It IS very hot ammo, and a lot of it was steel cored and steel jacketed, so it penetrates like nobody's business.
The steel cored stuff is now illegal, having been declared "armor piercing pistol ammo" by our loving and overly protective friends at ATF.
Be sure you know what you are buying.
