Bulgarian Makarov question

I'm thinking of getting a Bulgarian Mak that the local gunshop has. My question is this: How do you tell the military Maks from the commercial? Isn't there a stamp or something on the barrel if it's commercial? I've heard the military are the better of the two, is that so? Thanks for any info, as I have tried to research this particular question on here and couldn't quite pin it down.

The Bulgarian commercial Maks have "Arsenal" written in big letters on the slide. You can't miss it.

All the Milsurp Bulgarians I've seen have had a 10 with a circle around it somewhere on the frame.

I have both and they both shoot the same, very well. They look almost exactly alike also. I couldn't tell the difference from 10 feet away. I also prob couldn't tell the difference when firing them.

Hey snappy,
J&G sales

www.jgsales.com had them for about $100!! They might be sold out by now, though. Give them a look!!:)

I was right!! They are sold out!!:( They say 3-4 weeks till they get more!!

Snappy: Don't let anyone tell you the Bulgarian commercial (ARSENAL) Mak is inferior to other Maks, including the Bulgarian military Maks. Simply not true. However, were I to choose between the two, I'd currently take the Bulgarian military. Why? Because they're so dirt cheap right now (by as much as $75 or more over other Maks). $109 for an unissued Mak is a steal.

Take care. Marko
