Building first 1911???

I am starting to plan the building of my first 1911 and it's going to be in 9x23. Depending on cost I'll either buy a used 9mm/38super or build from ground up. Who makes good slides/frame and parts that are not too expensive since cost is important? Was looking at Caspian frame/slide don't know yet about barrel or inards any suggestions? Trying to get as many drop in parts as I can since I can't afford all the proper tools.
