Bud's "Make an offer chances"

Just tried it for the first time as they had a gun I have been looking for in stock, but not at a price I was jumping at. Used my 5 chances to go from 90% of asking to 95% without success.

Wondering if I get chances again later.
Anyone tried it? I heard some only go a dollar below asking.
Cant complain much. Their asking is cheaper than I have seen anywhere used.

They had a Marlin X7 at about 5% over what I considered a reasonable price, about a month ago.

While debating whether or not to buy from Bud's, or to try the Gunbroker lottery, I noticed that it had the "Make an offer" option.

4 offers and a few minutes later, I was $3 below their advertised price, and they still rejected me. I was less than 1.5% below their price, and they still said no.

What's the point?...

I got them to drop $14 off a $611 pistol. I would have bought it anyway but why leave money on the table.
I used up my 5 tries a couple of times, just logged out and logged back in and started all over again.

Just bid $1 and it will show you the lowest acceptable offer price. I'm surprised so few people have figured that out.
That might work on some items, or even most items, but all I get if I bid $1 is "Offer too low". ...And that's it.

Check out Grabagun dot com. They have better prices and no hassle.
Price may be in some cases. In this case Bud's asking is slightly lower. As far as hassle goes, I really can't imagine there being much less hassle than dealing with buds.

I was able to make another offer just now. Maybe logged out or maybe took 12 hours. Either way, when I decide o buy t I will eek up a dollar at a time.

It may be rare, but they will sometime accept fairly large amounts off on guns. Late last year I bought a Beretta PX4 Storm from them with an offer price of just over $100 under their marked price.
