S&W M&P 1.0 .40 Caliber

BUD'S GUNS has these for $399 FREE shipping. Has anyone here bought one? It states that it's unissued, has night sights, 3 magazines, palm swells, etc.

I bought a used M&P Compact from Buds. I believe it was from a PD in Ohio but can't confirm that. Anyway, gun was used and carried but other than some holster wear was in excellent shape and came with the case, Two mags and the palm swells. It is a great gun and my main carry piece.

At the same time I bought mine, my buddy bought a full sized M&P from Buds that was not advertised as unused but was clearly new in box. It was either from Atlanta PD or Detroit PD and was marked as such on the gun. Came with everything it was supposed to.

Buds is local to me and I've bought a few guns there. They are highly regarded and I've never experienced any thing negative with them. they do a huge online business and their store is typically always packed. I don't believe that you should have any concerns buying from them.

Everything I have ever purchased from Bud's (and that has been a good number of items) has been top notch and in excellent condition and shipped very quickly.

And, the prices were exceptional.

Try to find out the date on the night sights before you buy.
they only last I think 10 years.. if it's a older M&P then the sights could very well be dim or have only a few years left on them.

S&W has rebates right now on the M&P's.
I don't beleive the rebate would be valid here, so IMO the night sights are the 3rd mag is really the selling point here at this price.

My shooting buddy bought one of those recently. He is very pleased with it. I have shot it. I thought it was a good pistol.

S&W rebates are on the bodyguard, the shield, and the SD series. Not on the standard M&P.

I have picked up 4 of these over the last year. 2 full size and 2 C models they had last year. Yup, all were brand new with night sights and 3 mags. Not a great deal but a good enough deal. Buds for me has always been good to deal with.

Honestly that's not really a great price for the gun. My local store has the M2.0 40 in stock for $525

That's only a little more for a new gun with a better grip, better trigger, reduced profile (beaver tail), stiffer frame, etc.

I have a Gen1 40 and I love it but I wouldn't buy any more Gen 1 guns at this time unless the price was a LOT less than a M2.0

.

Yeah, that was my first thought although you do get an extra mag ($35) and night sights with the PD gun.

M2.0s were $459 here right from the intro so definitely a fine deal. Don't know if the price has changed since then.

You can find these at a few online retailers for right at the 300 mark. I bought one a couple years ago and it was a great firearm.

I haven't bought the S&W M&P Detroit police trade in guns from Buds, but I have bought from them, and I've checked out the police trade in M&P40c's several times.

I've had good service from Buds so far. I bought my .45ACP SIG P250 Compact from them and last weekend I bought my S&W M&P40c (new) from them. The M&P40c took longer than I'd like/I expected to ship (they just shipped it yesterday) but it wasn't unreasonable. I should be able to get to my FFL to see it and fill out the paperwork early next week, but I have no reason to expect the gun to be anything but perfect. From what I see in reviews on Buds and elsewhere online, if I do get a less than perfect gun, Buds customer service is terrific.

As for the police trade ins, the unissued are just that. They are brand new guns at used gun prices. The issued guns seem to always be in better shape than people expect based on the category they buy. I didn't go with the trade ins in the past but came close. This time, I didn't because: 1) they only have the full size and I wanted the compact, and 2) because I got my brand new M&P40c for $345 (though I don't have night sights).

I agree that it is just an okay deal.

If the 2.0 wasn't out and I could confirm that the night sights still had some life, and I wanted a .40, I might bite.

A friend of mine bought one a while back and it was definitely new in the box. It is an ok deal, not one that makes me want to yank my wallet out as fast as I can. I've seen a lot worse deals out there.
