budget Semi-auto 12

I don't shoot shotguns very much, more of a pistol guy, but I do bird hunt once or twice a year and would like to replace my 870 with something a little softer kicking. I cant really justify more than about $500 considering how little I would use it. What is a good reliable soft shooting semi in this price range?
Used 11-87, Walmart Beretta (3901?), Charles Daly...
Thanks

There are lots of older Browning A-5's hitting the market around here. Most are the $350- $400 range. I picked up a Savage 720 (an A-5 copy) for $100 last year. Very reliable shotguns.

I have a very nice 1960 Auto-5 standard, but I hate the way it shoots. Patern is acceptable, but it kicks more than my pump and it dosn't mount/swing right for me.

of the three you listed, the beretta is the most reliable, and is a soft-shooting gas auto like the others. but if you need 3.5" capability, no better bargain exists in new shotguns than the russian baikal mp-153 gas auto, also sold by remington as the spr-453, around $300 and built like a tank.
