Buck Mark Black Label Carbon Fiber Cleaning

Has anyone broken down a Buck Mark Black Label Carbon Fiber pistol? The manual says not to do so. It warns against breaking it down and instead says to clean the barrel with a rod from the mussel end. I would rather break it down for better access and to clean the barrel from the breech end. There are videos about breaking down other Buck Mark models, but this one comes with two rails (upper and lower) and a laser (attached to the lower rail). My concern is that the laser will have to be removed and then re-sighted each time the gun is cleaned.

The iron sights appear to be attached to the upper rail, and they might not have to be re-sighted if they are unchanged when the upper rail is removed and replaced. Has anyone removed the upper rail on their Buck Mark for cleaning, and if so, did the iron sights require re-sighting?

Consider using a bore snake from the breech. Beats ignoring manufacturer's instructions and risking damaging rifling at the muzzle.

I am NOT being sarcastic here...good for you for reading the manual. If the manual says don't break it down then I wouldn't.

There are *lots* of folk (myself included) that don't think you have to disassemble a gun to clean it. This is kind of a hot topic so for full disclosure there are folk that think it IS necessary too.

As Limnophile pointed out there are pull through cleaning systems that will let you clean from the breech without breaking it down.

Beware though some pull through systems that work with multiple calibers do NOT work at all well with a .22. IIRC the jag in the Remington system was so long I couldn't get it into the barrel from the breech end. I COULD have put just the jag in the chamber then run the cable down the barrel from the muzzle and threaded the cable onto the jag and pulled it through but that just seemed silly.

Browning Buck Mark Black Label Carbon Fiber

Thanks for you input. I have a number of other pistols that are very easy to break down and clean. This is my first Browning pistol. I once had a Ruger .22 that was also a bear to break down. I guess I'll follow Browning's suggestion and not break it down, but it takes a lot of restraint to do so.

I'm trying to solve another problem with the new Black Mark. I would like to put a fiber optic sight onto it. I called Browning tech support and although they were friendly, they were of no help. I finally asked for the specs of the current sight (width, height, and length) so I could find an aftermarket one but the tech said that information was on a blueprint for the gun at the factory and was not available. Again, I was surprised. I figured Browning would be more helpful on both issues. I'll try posting the sight issue on another thread and see if anyone has any ideas.
