I found a nice BT-99 for sale. Made in 1978. It's pretty much in perfect condition. Looks unfired but it has definitely been used. Original box and paperwork. Browning carrying case etc..

Guy wants to sell it but doesnt know it's current market value. It's the standard grade. 32" Mod barrel only.

Anyone know what they're worth? As per Gunbroker.com they're between 850-1000 in this condition. That about right? Im mid-atlantic east coast region.

Thx in advance!

for me that would be alittle high, but if you hold out a little you may find one that takes chokes, invecta or invecta plus and maybe a adjustable comb(a big plus to me). i shoot a BT-100 that i just love, but i have shot a few BT- 99,s belonging to friends and could live with one, that took ivecta plus tubes and a adjustable come like my BT-100. if you may take up other clay games it may be better to add more money get a good o/u. eastbank.

Are those the closed auction prices for what they actually sold for, or the asking prices?.. Closed auction actual prices are more realistic

32" Mod. barrel would be a excellent choice for the 16 yd. line.

How does the rest of the gun fit?

They are making a limited edition / special run of new BT-99's right now if anyone is interested. Friend has one ordered, delivery is scheduled for Oct. I believe.

The BT-99 is a very solid trap gun if all you shoot is singles. Have owned one for over 10 years and it has been flawless.

Yes it will be my 16 yard gun. Fits me great, it really does. It does not have an adjustable comb stock. But as far as I've handled this BT-99 I may leave it alone if I decide to purchase it.

If not, i'll find an adjustable stock and maybe put a hydraulic recoil reducer on it down the road if need be.

So between 800 and 1000 is a reasonable number to offer for this gun?

Its a good barrel...it fits good...its a good 16 yd. gun...its maybe even a 23 yd. gun....Sounds good to me....Start with an $700.00, and see what happens:)

Hey guys just wanted to say thank you for all your valuable input!

I was able to get the BT-99 for $800. Which I thought was pretty solid considering all the sources I looked at to provide value.

Now hopefully I can break clays with this thing!!! Still working toward my 75 Strait patch in American Trap.

THANKS!!!

i too am trying for the 75 and 100 patch, i made a 74-75 and finished up with a 97-100, i think i just was getting tired at the end. if you can find a book (TRAP SHOOTING SECRETS) by james russel first printed in 1997,its a 153 page book the realy goes into trap shooting and helped me over come alot of my trap shooting faults and i still read over it today. ps i live up near lewistown pa and we shoot sundays and wednesday and if you ever get up this way your welcome to shoot a few rounds, hell i,ll ever pay for your first round. eastbank.

Now you guys have got me thinking.... How are the tolerances on the BT-99's. If I find a 34" barrel with adjustable chokes can I purchase that and just pop it on my current BT-99 with minimal fitting?

Or will I need to bring the new barrel on face? I work on shotguns here and there. I'm more of a rifle and pistol guy, but I do believe can accomplish this task.

I guess i am wonder about their manufacturing quality as far as all of the guns being relatively interchangeable to a certain degree.

THANKS GUYS!!!

No, you can't the tolerances are tighter than that

i just had a early rem 20ga 1100 on a 12ga frame threaded for choke tubes by mike orlen (phone # 1-413-256-1630), due to the barrel thickness i had it threaded for tru line standerd threaded tubes. cost was 55.00 plus 20.00 return shipping. turn around time was fast and the job was well done. what make of choke tube you can get the barrel threaded for will be determed by the barrel wall thickness. haveing your shotgun threaded for choke tubes will let you change chokes for 16yd-27yd as needed. i am trying to shoot a 25-25 with a 20ga and 23-25 is my best todate and i have shot 23-25 three times so far and that was with a fixed choke browning 20ga BSS sporting double barrel. with my rem 1100 20ga that i only have shot once since i had choke tubes installed is 20-25. eastbank.
