I want to buy a new o/u shotgun and think that my ideal choices are these guns, but which one is best?

what are the pros and cons of these shotguns?
can´t remember the exact number on the beretta!

any advice is welcome.
keep blasting!

From my investigation, it is virtually a toss-up. When I made my decision, the XS was difficult to find, and commanded a premium price. I got a 682 Gold for a great deal, because the Gold E had just come out.

Try to shoot both, and get the one that fits you.

I currently have an XS and enjoy it very much. Have shot Berettas also and like them as well. The Brownings just fit me better. If you have read on this and other boards much about this subject you will hear "they're both are about the same quality, buy the gun that fits you". It's true. Buy the gun that fits you better.:)

I have shot both and personally prefer the Beretta. But that is just me. I know a lot of folks who swear by the Brownings and shoot well with them, including one NSCA master shooter.

It is just a matter of personal preference. I do not like the deep action on Brownings, preferring the slimmer Beretta action. But I do find Browning usually has a better fitting stock. Almost everyone who gets the Beretta needs gunfiting.

This is just the opposite with autoloaders, the Beretta 390/391 guns come with a set of shims that make fitting easy. The Browning gold does not.

Have a son with both. Both adequate.
Nightmares getting parts and service for Browning.
Fast service on Beretta.

Maby just his luck.
