I have a Browning X-bolt in the .280 caliber. I want to get the barrel threaded for a suppressor. The threads on the suppressor are 5/8x24. the outside diameter of the barrel is .602. 5/8 of an inch is .625 so I would have to go with a smaller thread than get an adapter to get it up to 5/8. what would be my best way to go about doing that? would doing 1/2x28 leave the barrel to thin? could I go with some kind of 9/16 thread?? what are your opinions? would prefer answers from Gunsmiths.
