Browning X Bolt Hunter Questions

Well, I just purchased one of these in 30-06 and on another forum some seem to say they were not quite pleased with their accuracy. Has anyone tried handloads with decent results? I planed on reloading for it but, if it's not going to be much of an improvement I won't waste my time. I just got it so I haven't even got to shoot it yet but surely, It will shoot Minute of Deer anyway. :D Thanks! :)

Load up 52gr of 4064 in WW or RP brass, CCI200 primers, and 150 Hornady or Sierra Game Kings. Has shot 7/8" or less in 5 rifles that I've loaded for over the years.

Right now I've got H4350 and H4831sc hopefully, I can come up with a good enough load with one of these powders before the 12th of the month. I still have to get a set of 30-06 dies I've got a Forster Coax press but, the only thing I can find locally is RCBS Dies will they work on the Coax press or should I order a set of Forster dies? Thanks! :)

I had an A-Bolt Micro-Medallion years ago in 7mm-08 that took me a LONG time to find a load that would group under an inch but if you work at it you can get most Brownings to shoot nice. If it doesn't shoot well and you can't get a load to work try shimming a pressure point near the end of the barrel. That has worked wonders for many of my rifles.

This is scary! When I used to reload and had a 30-06 this is EXACTLY the load, brass, primer, powder and bullets I "arrived" at also trying just about every powder that existed. You must have "peaked" at my recipe!! :D

I always used CCI primers and Remington brass for future loads. On other calibers I ended up going to ball powders since they metered so nice from my measure. Winchester 760 was my favorite powder. They didn't have the 780 out yet when I reloaded.

Most dies are made to work in other brand presses. Standard thread size etc.

Mine X-bolt is in 270 and shoots .750 groups with my handloads.
The only problem i have with mine is that it seems to get alot of copper fouling but nothing a decent cleaning with sweets doesn't fix.

Otherwise an awesome rifle, Light, points well and easy to carry. Mine is probably my favourite rifle.

They're properly bedded and free floated and have adjustbale triggers but they are a hunting rifle with a sporter barrel that does warm up very quickly. So shooting more than 3 round groups is probably not worth it because the extra heat might cause flyers in 5 round groups plus it's a hunting rifle so any more than three rapid shots is unlikely.

I have no issues with my stainless Stalker '06:
