Browning Safari Bolt Reassembly

Hi

I have a Browning Safari made ~1964 with a Sako receiver and bolt. I wanted to clean the bolt and turned the cocking ring clockwise which released the bolt housing.

I then placed the cocking ring back into the slot on the housing and tried to turn it countercloswise to close with no luck.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Robert

Might be better in the Smithy forum where the gun mechanics hang out.

Sorry, I don't have an answer that helps beyond that.

Figured it out

Thanks for trying to help. This bolt is not like the new Sako bolts and after looking at the bolt a little more I realized the back had to be pushed inward and turned at the same time counterclockwise.
